Bake 'N' Forth: Chai Tea

Bake 'N' Forth: Chai Tea: Matt & I have decided to develop our own homemade Chai Tea recipe! We figured if we named our dog Chai, we should probably be able to brew up a decent pot ourselves.

I turned Matt on to Indian food back in July at House of Curries in Berkeley and he fell in love with the food, but especially the tea! So we asked the owners what their secret was.... We went to the local Indian grocery store in Alameda, bought a box of Orange Pekoe & brewed MANY good pots of tea over the following months.

Ever since we moved to Colorado, we've been searching for a good Indian food & Chai replacement.  Four restaurants later, we discovered The Bombay Bistro in Boulder. The appetizers were savory and the tea was delicious. We complimented the host on his tea and, not only did he share his technique, he gave us the tea plus the special ingredients he uses!  He sent us straight over to India's Grocery to get us started. We purchased $41 worth of tea ingredients. Oy vey!!!

The journey to making the best Chai Tea has begun!
