Muddy Fun & Water Torture

Sunday evening, we brought the puppies to a local dog park to get their energy out before the rain strikes again.  Turns out there is a ravine in the far back corner and with the recent rain and snow this has turned into a 1' X 20' long mud bath.  Of course Chai discovered it within the first 15 minutes and took a lap around the perimeter being careful to hop over the mud.  As soon as he realized it would be muddy fun and had only one opportunity to make the best of it, he decided to run as fast as he could the ENTIRE length of the mud trap.  Too bad we didn't take a video or picture of him! It's the filthiest we've ever seen him.  Thank gosh his coat is waterproof.  A couple rinses with a hose, a towel, a half-filled bathtub of water, and some more towels and he was practically clean.  Almost.

Mr. Trouble is certainly an expert.

Today was a busy day for the little man.  Ashley took him to the veterinarian who diagnosed him with a urinary tract infection. Poor guy! FOUR pills a day for two weeks!  For his weight, we are supposed to be giving him 100 ounces of water per day! Yikes! Also, he officially gained 5 pounds in a week and a half! As soon as we finish this bag of puppy food we are switching to adult food. He's growing like a weed.

After the vet, Ashley took the little stink pot to the dog wash for his second official bath since we've had him.  The first time was at home; both of us were soaking wet, literally from head to toe with all of our clothes on.  We then attempted to dry him off but he did not like the blowdryer.  We used literally five towels to try to dry his coat off! The breeder told us about a local dog wash pet supply store. It's much smarter to wash him there, as we can secure him to the wall and they clean up ALL of the mess for $10! They also provide all soap, conditioner, towels, tools, and professional dryer.  Apparently he learned how to lie to us at a very young age because he allowed the breeder to cut all his nails, trim his paws, wash & dry him.  Although he looked miserable, he didn't struggle with the breeder half as much as he did with us. She didn't have a DROP of water on her! What a little booger!

"Hey Mom! Aunt Sandy gives better baths! Just sayin."

Chai literally grew five shades whiter & five inches fluffier.  He's like a giant powder puff and smells so fresh & so clean clean! We'll have to keep this up every other week so he gets used to it during show season.

Cuddled up with a blind, but nice & fluffy!

No walk was necessary today.... he's been sleeping on and off for about 12 hours!  Woo hoo! Let's hope he sleeps through the night
